Begonia ‘Cocktail™ Vodka’

We’d like to announce that our full line of begonias has begun to ship and a heavyweight in this very important line is ‘Cocktail™ Vodka’. Many bartenders would agree that vodka is a favorite mixer because of its neutral flavor and color. With bright scarlet flowers, ‘Cocktail™ Vodka’ can hardly be considered neutral, but landscapers use this wax begonia in a similar fashion. Its nice medium texture and height blend easily into most garden designs—with an unexpected kick from that dark bronze foliage. 

While it has the ability to blend in, ‘Cocktail™ Vodka’ brings another important element to the garden: contrast. Bright red blooms look stunning mixed with white flowering selections, and the striking leaves make a nice foil for plants that are brighter green or trendy chartreuse. We also like to plant this begonia en masse for a solid block of color that’s eye-catching from a distance. Of course, it’s a natural in containers—straight up or mixed.
