At Diefenbacher we take pride in our quality poinsettias. We find great satisfaction in growing large, lush plants that look beautiful for the holidays and beyond. It’s taken years of hard work and close attention to come up with our growing strategy and every year we hone our skills a bit more.

‘Moondance’

For displays that need a finishing touch our mums in 12-inch hanging baskets are in full color. These combos come in upbeat Halloween-themed shades and make cheery antidotes to the creepy, gothic décor that’s become a staple of the holiday. They brighten a porch, patio, or deck instantly and are also effective at drawing the eye up—to business signage, or to subtler décor elements that might otherwise get overlooked.

Our mum combos also come in 12-inch planters for fresh festive color to place along driveways and around those popular outdoor fireplaces. Mum planters are also great for quick entryway decorations to welcome this year’s cavalcade of trick-or-treaters. Remember: costumed kids are invited to solicit treats at many local stores and restaurants nowadays, so be ready to deck out those businesses with some quick hits of fun fall color. 

You’ll find that butterflies get in the spirit of Halloween as well, flitting from mum to mum for a sweet nectar treat.

‘Sangria’—a natural for Halloween décor

One of our favorite ornamental peppers—‘Sangria’—is in full color and ready to add texture to Halloween décor. ‘Sangria’ is the pepper that looks like a string of small holiday lights in fiesta colors: bright orange, red, crimson, scarlet, magenta, lilac, and purple. The fruits stay upright and as you can see, there are lots of them, throughout both the interior and exterior of the foliage.

We mix versatile peppers right in with flowering plants and greenery in window boxes and combinations. Halloween means lots of parties will be going on, and ‘Sangria’ is a natural choice for spicing up seasonal planters to decorate restaurants and cocktail lounges. 

Are those pointy peppers poking up out of the leaves, or the piercing horns of a hoard of horrible beasts? We may never know…

Despite its fierce, fiery appearance, ‘Sangria’ is mild in taste so it can be added to salsa or dips for those Halloween parties—if you dare.
